Setting up the Teraglide platform and Snuuzu mattress in the Tesla Model Y.
HQ
Steps:
1. Folded back seats down, using the buttons in the Tesla.
2. Slid the interleaved top of the Teraglide platform onto the folded down rear seats.
3. Moved the front seats forward.
4. Unfolded the top hinged bit of the Teraglide.
5. Clipped on the side supports of the Terglide, near the doors.
6. Placed the Snuuzu mattress bag on the Teraglide platform.
7. Unzipped the bag, unrolled the Snuuzu mattress. Unclipped the mattress and opened it up flat.
8. Pressed the `Inflate` button on the mattress. Waited a minute for it to finish, then turned it off.
9. Added bed linen, blanket and pillow.
Gotchas:
1. Teraglide (the business) had warned me, after seeing earlier photos of my installation a few months ago, that I had neglected to strap down the front of the Teraglide. With this in mind, I brought along the supplied straps, but I hadn’t yet installed them. When I fully extended the kitchen drawer without anything weighing down on top of the platform, the drawer started to tip over, just as they had predicted. So, my slick operation was thwarted temporarily as I removed the partially inflated Snuzu, and undid the first five steps above. I spent the next twenty minutes figuring out how to feed the straps through the back seat fold, around the tether points, avoiding the Juniper’s rear seat power cables. Of course, I should have done all this at home when I put the Teraglide in the car.
2. The Snuuzu mattress has a neat battery powered pump for inflation and deflation. When I inflated it, the battery died before completion. I hadn’t charged it up since our last trip, a few months ago, to Uluru. Oops. I pulled the pump out, plugged it into the car’s USB charger. Unfortunately, the pump’s charging port is only accessible when removed from the mattress, so it can’t plug in and pump at the same time. Fortunately, I had time for it to charge, since I was sorting out gotcha #1. I would prefer for the Snuuzu to have a socket to draw power directly from the car, rather than its own battery. Of course, I should have just charged the battery before I left home.
This will be my bed (and kitchen, dining) for the night. Stay tuned to Tesla Tripping to see how it goes.
Beautiful spot, right next to the Snowy River, with trees (not cleared).

Charging:
I charged the car in Cooma earlier. I picked an unpowered site in this campground, because it was quieter and near the river. The car will power my fridge, lights, phone recharging and air conditioning tonight.
